Updated: Unconfirmed Fatality Collision Near Fall City

Update January 10th, 3:25 PM: King County Sheriffs Office Marine Rescue has located a vehicle in the water. Recovery efforts have begun.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), at approximately 1:48 AM on January 9th, 2022 a vehicle was traveling westbound on SR202 when the driver lost control while attempting a left turn.

The vehicle left the roadway towards southbound and rolled into the Snoqualmie River. The vehicle was not recovered.

The driver, a 35-year-old man from Carnation, has been arrested for suspicion of DUI and other possible charges. *

Two passengers an adult female of unknown age and an eight-year-old male are still missing with the car. An 8-month-old female in a car seat was not injured.

*Note: This story has been changed to reflect that the 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of DUI but has not yet been charged with DUI

  • Where did you get the information that he got a dui? He is free as of now at snoqualmie church where the family is getting together to pray and help with search efforts.

  • Released via bail or own recognizance. Going southbound in that area means he must’ve crossed the centerline into the river. At almost 2 in the morning. Can’t even imagine what must’ve been going on. Horribly tragic.

    1. No other car. “Collision” was from the WSP press memo and in my experience with these memo’s they just have terms they use. This one was termed “personal injury collision” as the incident type.
