ORIGINAL STORY

The City of North Bend warned that residents living east of North Bend might hear loud explosions through the remainder of Wednesday, September 5, 2018 –  and throughout the day on Friday, September 7th.

The city said via news release the explosions that began at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday were part of a training exercise at the Fire Training Academy (FTA), located off I-90 exit 38 east of the city.

North Bend PIO Jill Green said the FTA did not say what type of training was occurring.

The Washington State Fire Training Academy provides training, collaboration, and support of the fire service and other public safety professionals in an effort to protect Washington State residents.
