TRAFFIC | More Upcoming Road Closures, Possible Delays as City Works to Finish Infrastructure Project

The City of Snoqualmie is warning residents of more possible traffic delays, this time roadwork and lane closures happen through the historic downtown core as construction crews work toward finishing a one-year Infrastructure Improvement Project.

City officials say there may be significant traffic delays in downtown Snoqualmie along Railroad Ave SE from Monday, May 18th through May 30th, with the exception of Memorial Day weekend when Railroad Ave will remain FULLY OPEN.

The city says for nearly two weeks, round-the-clock roadwork and lane closures along Railroad Ave SE will be controlled by traffic signals. The road closures and possible delays are necessary in order to finish the downtown infrastructure project, which should wrap up near the end of June.

In these sections of roadway, there will be 24-hour alternating one-lane traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals with an approximate two-minute rotation. Traffic will flow in both directions except in sections of Railroad Ave SE as noted below.

May 18th – 22nd (Monday – Friday, 24 hours)

  • Alternating one-lane traffic on Railroad Ave SE between SE Fir St and SE River St
  • Road closures with detours marked:
SE King St between Maple Ave SE and Railroad Ave SE
SE King St between Falls Ave SE and Railroad Ave SE
(Local access to businesses on SE King St will be allowed)

May 26th – 30th (Tuesday – Saturday, 24 hours)

  • Alternating one-lane traffic on Railroad Ave SE between SE Newton St and SE King St
  • Road closures with detours marked:
SE River St between Maple Ave SE and Railroad  Ave SE
SE River St between Falls Ave SE and Railroad Ave SE

There will be access to all downtown businesses during construction work. The City of Snoqualmie apologizes for the inconvenience to residents, local businesses, and commuters.

Residents can use SE Millpond Road or I-90 to exit 27 as alternate routes to bypass road construction and avoid traffic delays.
