Three Mount Si Grads receive scholarships from Firefighters Association

The Snoqualmie Firefighters Association recently recognized Makenzie Davis, Allie Banducci, and Allie Murphy, all 2018 graduates of Mount Si High School, with scholarships of $1,000 each. Davis will attend Boise State University to study political science, while Banducci and Murphy will attend Washington State University and study nursing.

“The Snoqualmie Firefighters Association would like to congratulate each of the scholarship winners for their hard work and dedication to finishing high school strong. We wish them success in their journeys,” said Tanner Webb of the Snoqualmie Firefighters Association Scholarship Committee.

Each year, the Snoqualmie Firefighters Association raises scholarship funds primarily through donations at their annual Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction. The scholarship program allows the association to provide financial assistance to local college-bound students who intend to pursue a degree in the fields of fire science, medicine/medical related, or police/criminal justice.

“We would like to express our gratitude for the continued support the association receives from the Snoqualmie community, which makes these scholarships possible. We would also like to recognize Swedish Hospital for their generous contribution to this year’s scholarship program,” said Snoqualmie Firefighters Association President Peter O’Donnell.

[The Snoqualmie Firefighters Association is a non-profit organization of both career and volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians (EMTs). The association supports the Snoqualmie Fire Department’s goals and mission statement with special equipment requests as well as community events, education, and outreach.]
