Three months after horrific car accident, local teen still healing; September 23rd fundraiser to help with medical costs

It was a horrible accident scene at the intersection of North Bend Way and Meadowbrook Way on June 15, 2017 when 18-year old Ty Asper’s car collided with another vehicle, t-boned while making a turn.

Ty was rushed to Harborview Medical Center with severe injuries.

Three months have passed and Ty is slowly recovering from the serious accident. According to his mom, Renee, he has made excellent progress, especially considering the internal damage he suffered, along with a broken pelvis and several broken ribs.

Rene explained that there is still quite a road ahead for Ty to achieve full recovery, but he is doing physical therapy and is now up walking with the aid of a walker.

She said via email, “He is very determined and has a great attitude which will take him far.” Renee said she really appreciates everyone that has kept Ty in their thoughts since the accident.

The Asper’s have lived in Snoqualmie for about 20 years – and friends are planning an upcoming fundraiser to help with Ty’s medical costs.

Saturday, September 23rd from 4PM – 10PM the community is invited to attend a Spaghetti Dinner in Ty’s honor at the Eagles in downtown Snoqualmie. There will also be live music, a raffle and an auction.

Suggested donation for the dinner is $10 per person.

If you can’t make the fundraiser dinner, but would still like to donate to help Ty, a fund in his name has been set up at Sno Falls Credit Union.
