The Coats: A Harmonious Blend of Music and Laughter at Mount Si High School

Mount Si High School is set to host the renowned acapella group “The Coats” for a memorable evening of music and entertainment. The event, scheduled for Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM PST, promises to be a delightful experience for all ages.

This local legendary group, famous for their unique mix of harmonies and humor, is coming to the Mount Si High School PAC Auditorium. The Coats, known for their sold-out Christmas show at Benaroya Hall, will now bring their talents to the Snoqualmie Valley, engaging thousands of students in the SVSD system with their music.

The festivities begin on February 5th, with The Coats conducting a clinic for two of the MSHS audition choirs. Then, every fifth grader in the district will be bussed to the high school for a series of mini concerts along with the PLU Woodwind Quartet. Later that day, they will conduct an open workshop for all MSHS students interested in learning what it is like to be a professional touring musician.

On February 6th, the group will visit all three middle schools in the area, meeting with each 7th and 8th-grade choir before culminating their visit with a public performance in the MSHS Performing Arts Center at 7:00 pm.

“Being able to bring this caliber of talent into the classrooms of our SVSD students has been a dream of ours for a long time,” expressed Haley Isaacs, Co-Director of the Mount Si Choirs program. “The VOICE Boosters are so proud to make this significant financial commitment to share music education in the Valley and continue supporting the development of our critically acclaimed choir program.” Said Gary Forman, VOICE Boosters Co-President.

The Coats, established as a top a cappella band in the Pacific Northwest, boasts a nearly two-decade career. They have performed for various events and organizations, including MDA benefits and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. They have entertained audiences from the President of the United States to corporate clients like Starbucks and Microsoft. Their performances are a blend of music and comedy, leaving audiences amazed and delighted.

General admission tickets for the event are priced at $20, while student tickets are available for $10. You can find out more information about tickets here: https://www.mountsichoirs.org/thecoats.
