The City of Snoqualmie Seeks Volunteers for Commissions

Do you want to become more involved in your community? Positions are open on the Economic Development Commission and the Planning Commission.

Economic Development Commission

The Economic Development Commission seeks two candidates to fill Positions 1 and 5, with terms expiring December 31, 2024.

This Commission works to identify diverse economic opportunities; recruit and retain local businesses; foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and strategic partnerships; and support a vibrant tourism economy in balance with a healthy community and abundant natural resources. The Commission will present opportunities and recommendations to support strategies and goals set by the City Council.

The Commission consists of seven members who must reside within the city or own/operate a business within the Snoqualmie business community. Commission members serve two-year terms. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 8 am.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission seeks a candidate to fill Position 7 for the term expiring December 31, 2023. The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Council and, on some issues, makes decisions on land use issues such as zoning.

The principal guide to making land use decisions in Snoqualmie is the Comprehensive Plan of the City and Zoning Ordinance. The Commission is made up of seven members, five of whom must reside within city limits. Commission members serve four-year terms. Meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month at 7:30 pm.

If interested in either of these commissions, please complete the online form at snoqualmiewa.gov.
