The City of Snoqualmie Appoints New Finance & HR and Community Development Directors

Mayor Katherine Ross administered the Oath of Office to Jen Ferguson as Finance & HR Director and Emily Artecheas as Community Development Director at the July 11 City Council meeting. Ms. Ferguson, who works for the City in an interim role, will officially begin on August 1. Ms. Arteche begins work at the City on July 18.

Jen Ferguson brings 30 years of municipal finance, public administration, and strategic planning experience to the Finance & HR Director role. Previously Jen served the Washington cities of Stanwood, Snohomish, and Issaquah after moving from the Midwest and serving several Minnesota cities and the State of Minnesota. She holds an undergraduate degree in management and a master’s degree in public administration. Jen and her husband Brian enjoy spending time with family and friends, camping, and boating.

Emily Arteche has more than 25 years of local government planning experience, serving most recently as the planning manager for the City of Edgewood, Washington. Prior experience includes senior planner roles with the City of Sammamish and the City of Issaquah, as well as four years as an assistant planner for the City of Hillsboro, Oregon. Ms. Arteche holds a master’s degree in urban regional planning from Portland State University and a bachelor’s degree in English (minor in political science) from the University of Oregon.

“We welcome Ms. Ferguson and Ms. Arteche and are excited about the expertise they bring to the City,” said Snoqualmie City Administrator Mike Sauerwein.
