The Bat Lady Returns to North Bend, October 12th

It’s been a few years, but the Snoqualmie Valley Garden Club is bringing the ‘Bat Lady’ back. The entire community is invited to the free event.

After a highly successful bat presentation a few years ago, Snoqualmie Valley Garden Club is bringing ‘Barbara the Bat Lady’ back to the Snoqualmie Valley and making it an event.

It happens Saturday, October 12th, 11AM to 12:30PM at the Sallal Grange, located at 12912 432nd Ave SE in North Bend. Doors open at 10:45AM. Organizers say: Bring the kids, bring your friends and bring your bat questions.  Bat costumes welcome.

Barbara is the real Bat Lady.  She is a biologist and bat rehabilitator who’s dedicated her life to one of these most misunderstood creature: Bats.

Organizers say Barbara’s bat talks are entertaining and educational.  She will also bring along live bats so you can see them up close and better understand their importance in the ecology.

There will also be a plant sale, bake sale, a drawing for FREE bat house, oh, and bat houses for sale, too.

The event is sponsored by Snoqualmie Valley Garden Club & Bats Northwest.

The little brown bat is one of the most common species found in Washington. PC: Washington State Department of Fish & Wildlife
