SWAT, Hostage Negotiating Teams Respond to Mt. Si Road Area Sunday Night

A heavy police presence on Mt. Si Road near 480th Ave SE drew the concern of North Bend residents Sunday night, April 26, 2015.  Residents in the vicinity estimated 30 police officers were at the scene around 9:30PM.

According to the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO), they were investigating a domestic violence/warrant incident when the male suspect, possibly with access to weapons, barricaded himself inside the home.

In response, the KCSO SWAT team was called out to contain the perimeter near Mt. Si Road while the Hostage Negotiating Team (HNT) worked to secure the evacuation the parties involved in the incident.

The SWAT Team eventually deployed tear gas, which led to the suspect surrendering and being taken into custody around 10:30PM, April 26th.

The King County Sheriff’s Office stated there were no injuries as result of the excellent job by KCSO patrol officers, SWAT and HNT members.
