Stormy June Weather May Give Snoqualmie Valley A Break In Coming Days, But Rain Still In Forecast For Mount Si Outdoor Graduation Tomorrow

Well, it’s probably a good thing Principal Belcher ordered rain ponchos for tomorrow’s outdoor graduation ceremony.  Remember, umbrellas block the view of the graduates.  On the bright side, at least today’s weather didn’t happen tomorrow.  Some more spring-like weather may visit us starting Sunday, but for now stay dry and stay warm.  This is June?

From my friends in the Komo Weather Department…

“After a one-day break from the rainfall, a different area of upper-level low pressure is now influencing our weather.  This means another round of rain, especially this morning.

A front is currently offshore and will move through Western Washington today.  A soaking rainfall is prevalent ahead of the front, and this shield of rain will be with us until the early afternoon.  Rain will taper to showers behind the front later today, but it will stay chilly all day long.  Highs will only reach the upper 50s today.

Upper-level low pressure will stay close by into the weekend, keeping us showery on both Friday and Saturday.  Highs will stay well below the average daytime high (upper 60s), and there will be some sunbreaks, especially on Saturday.

We warmed up to 70 degrees seven different times in May, but we have yet to get there even once so far this June.  There is the potential to make it into the low 70s early next week as an area of higher pressure moves overhead.  Sunday will be the first dry day with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid 60s.  The best chance to hit the 70s will be Monday, especially in communities away from the water.

Next week will not be completely dry, but long-range computer forecast models paint a much drier picture when compared to this week.  Temperatures, though, will likely stay near or a little below normal as at least a light onshore flow will continue.”
