State Senate, House Representatives Holding Town Halls, February 22nd

Have a questions regarding the latest Washington State legislative session? Want to let your locally elected state representatives where you’d like to see tax dollars spent?  If so, Saturday, February 22, 2014, is your chance.

townhallAs the end of the latest  legislative session approaches on March 13th, State Representatives Jay Rodne and Chad Magendanz and State Senator Mark Mullet are making the local rounds this Saturday, reaching out to constituents in town hall meetings from Maple Valley to Snoqualmie.

In December, Representative Rodne stated he was working to secure budgetary funding to relocate the Snoqualmie Truck Weigh Station, with the hope of relieving regular, long traffic backups for Snoqualmie commuters trying to access westbound I-90.  In response to a story on the topic, many Snoqualmie Valley residents stated concerns about the overall state of the busy I-90/SR-18 interchange, saying improvements are desperately needed.

Education funding – smaller class size, COLA’s for local teachers, new graduation requirements, fully funding K-12 education; the governor’s moratorium on the death penalty –  these topics were all debated during the latest legislative session.

For community members wishing to go one-on-one with their local representatives, these, and other legislative session topics, are up for discussion this Saturday, for community members wishing to go one-on-one with their local representatives.
