Snoqualmie Valley Transportation has Urgent Need for Drivers

Snoqualmie Valley Transportation, the company with the little white buses serving the Valley, has immediate openings for three bus drivers. Interested applicants with a valid driver’s license are encouraged to apply immediately, as the unexpected losses could result in service cancellations.

“We don’t want to cancel any service as the riders count on us to get them everywhere they need to go,” said SVT Executive Director Amy Biggs. In the short term, she said, SVT dispatchers have been driving routes, and some retired drivers have been recruited to come back.

To qualify, applicants must hold a regular Washington driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past five years. No special license is required because the buses are small. Paid training is provided, and the starting rate is $16.26 per hour. Applicants must also pass a federal drug test, including marijuana use, and have no arrests on their records.

The training process takes several weeks, so applications will be processed immediately.

All shifts are Monday through Friday, 30-plus hours per week. After 90 days of employment, drivers qualify for medical and dental benefits, as well.

The biggest benefit of the job is the impact you have on other people, say the drivers. Many have said this has been their best job, in part because they can live and work in the Valley and because of the many ways, they help others, just by helping them get around.

To apply, complete the form at https://svtbus.org/hiring-form-job-application/ and drop it off at the office, 1308 Boalch Ave. NW, North Bend, or send it by email to feedback@svtbus.org. You can also mail it to Snoqualmie Valley Transportation, P.O. Box 805, North Bend, WA, 98045.
