Snoqualmie Tribe, Casino donate hundreds of hams this holiday season

That’s a lot of hams!

Via press release the Snoqualmie Tribe said it had recently distributed 450 holiday hams to families in need across the Puget Sound area.

The Tribe has been working with organizations in the Snoqualmie Valley and wider Puget Sound region to distribute the hams to Elders, Veterans and families that might otherwise go without.

Organizationsthat that received hams this year included:

  • Mt Si Food Bank
  • Mt Si Senior Center
  • Carnation Food Bank
  • Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank
  • United Indians of All Tribes – Daybreak Star
  • Compass Housing Alliance – Veterans Center

Snoqualmie Tribal Chairwoman Sunny Clear said, “The Snoqualmie Tribe has a long history of helping our neighbors when a need exists. During this busy time of year, it’s all too easy to forget that there are those in our community that can use a hand. The Snoqualmie Tribe is happy that we can partner with local organizations to provide help where it is needed.”

“It is only through the teamwork of our whole community that the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank can provide the food and resources that our neighbors need to thrive,” said Tom Foot, Operations Manager for the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank. “The 50 hams donated, together with the amazing proceeds of holiday food drives and store-rescued groceries, means 50 more families don’t need to worry about having a fantastic meal on the table this Christmas. The support of the Snoqualmie Tribe on this and other seasonal food distributions will undoubtedly have a great impact on families across the valley.”
