Mayor Mayhew announced during the May 11, 2026, City Council meeting that Scott Miller has been selected as the next Police Chief for the City of Snoqualmie, pending the successful completion of a comprehensive background check that may take several weeks.
Miller brings more than 25 years of progressive law enforcement experience to Snoqualmie. He most recently served as Chief of Police for the Siloam Springs Police Department in Arkansas, where he led a department of 51 sworn officers and 21 civilian staff and oversaw an $8.2 million operating budget. Over the course of his career, he has served in patrol, criminal investigations, narcotics, SWAT, and crime suppression roles, rising through every rank from patrol officer to department chief.
Miller is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (280th Session) and holds certifications in leadership, supervision, and executive command through the FBI’s Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA). He is an active member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and currently serves on its Officer Safety and Wellness Working Group, reflecting his commitment to both community safety and the well-being of the officers who serve it.
Throughout his tenure in Siloam Springs, Miller championed community-oriented programs, including organizing the city’s first National Night Out event, coaching youth sports through the local Boys and Girls Club, and participating in the Special Olympics Torch Run. He has received numerous commendations, including a Life-Saving Award, a Humanitarian Service Medal for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, and a letter of appreciation from the Arkansas Attorney General for the recovery of two abducted children.
Officials said they are thrilled Captain Gary Horejsi will continue with the department, teaming with Chief Miller to lead the police force, and thanked him for the dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment he brought to the department and community during the North Bend police transition and throughout the process.
An update will be provided once Chief Miller’s background check is complete and an official start date has been confirmed.
