Snoqualmie Safeway to start special shopping hours for community members at-risk for COVID-19, will hold back items for those shoppers

Safeway (and stores owned by Albertsons Companies) announced yesterday that it will begin special shopping hours for people considered most vulnerable to COVID-19, which includes those 60 and over, pregnant and those with underlying health issues like heart and lung disease and diabetes.

Snoqualmie Ridge Safeway management confirmed to us they will offer the special shopping times, which are Tuesday and Thursday form 7AM – 9AM.

In addition to dedicated shopping time for COVID-19 at-risk residents, Snoqualmie Safeway management said it also plans to hold some grocery supplies (as they arrive) back to ensure it can have items stocked on shelves during the special shopping hours.

Management said it wants to ensure at-risk community members will be able to find needed grocery items during their dedicated time.

According to an Albertsons Companies news release:

“We are sensitive to the fact that everyone wants to make sure they have the items they need, and we also know that everyone wants their neighbors to stay safe and healthy, too. We are asking our customers to respect these special hours for those who are most at risk in our communities. We thank our customers in advance for their compassion and understanding toward their neighbors and friends, and in helping us maintain this temporary operations guideline.”
