Snoqualmie Ridge business experiences robbery

Two teenaged Cherry de Pon employees got quite a scare Thursday night, September 15, 2016 when a man entered the frozen yogurt shop on Center Blvd near closing time, asked for change and then grabbed cash out of the open cash register. The man ran from the store.

Snoqualmie Police Captain Nick Almquist said the incident took about five seconds and there were no injuries. He said via email that a female employee reached out to stop the man and there was contact between hands – which means the incident fits the robbery statute.

A parent of one of the employees said the shaken girls locked the front door as soon as the man, described as possibly in his 30’s, exited the store. They called 911 and stayed in a back room until officers arrived.

According to SPD, the case is open and active. More information will be added as it becomes available from police.
