Updated 7:00 PM: I90 has Re-Opened

I-90 is open.  

The vehicle under the tanker truck containing sulphuric acid was within a half-inch of hitting the drain valve. The vehicle was removed by letting air out of the front tires with DOE on-site to monitor.

Update 3:30 PM: I-90 is closed in both directions from North Bend (MP 34) to Ellensburg (MP 106) due to a collision involving hazardous material.

No estimated reopening.

An SUV crashed into a tanker carrying sulfuric acid on I-90 near Cle Elum. Department of Ecology is en route as crews work to separate the car from the truck.

The pass remains closed in both directions from North Bend to Ellensburg until further notice.

As of 8:37 AM December 30th, I-90 Snoqualmie Pass is closed in both directions due to near-zero visibility and adverse road conditions

Eastbound is closed at North Bend milepost 34. Westbound is closed at Ellensburg milepost 106.

I-90/Snoqualmie Pass is estimated to reopen at 11 a.m. I-90 has been closed from North Bend to Ellensburg since 4:30 a.m. due to adverse weather conditions.

In addition, as of 9 AM eastbound & westbound traffic are alternating on SR 18 just east of I-90 due to a disabled vehicle.
