For many families, a big holiday tradition is decorating with bright, twinkling, flashing lights – as well as driving around and looking at other holiday light displays.

This year, as a way of encouraging the community to decorate and beautify homes and businesses during the holiday season, the City of Snoqualmie Parks & Rec Department and the Snoqualmie Ridge ROA launched their first annual Holiday Lights Contest.

Thirteen homes entered this year’s contest – pretty good for the first year of competition. Judging happened last week and we’re awaiting the results.  The top three homes will receive a certificate and yard sign announcing their success – along with being recognized in the local newspapers papers and ROA newsletter.

These 13 homes produced some great light displays and are definitely worth checking out. Some are even set to music, with the lights dancing to Christmas carols. To see video the McIntosh CT entry with a dancing light display click: Xmaslights.

Thanks to all who entered and showed off their holiday spirit!  Clark Griswold would be proud!  Happy Holidays Snoqualmie Valley.
