Snoqualmie City Council Approves Contracts to Repave Snoqualmie Parkway and Several Other City Roads

On May 22, 2023, the Council approved two contracts that will repave several city roadways this summer, including Snoqualmie Parkway from SE 99th Street to SR 202, sections of Mill Pond, Tokul, and Stone Quarry Roads, as well as SE Mountain Ave.

The Snoqualmie Parkway Rehabilitation Project contract was awarded to ICON Materials, with the $3.75 million bid coming in well below estimates. An appropriation from the State is funding this project.

The 2023 Street Overlay Project contract was also awarded to ICON Materials. The $622,000 project is part of the City’s Street Resurfacing Program. Mill Pond, Tokul, Stone Quarry Roads, and SE Mountain Ave will be repaved.

Both projects are part of the city’s 2023-28 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and include roadway grinding and resurfacing. The Snoqualmie Parkway project includes loop replacements, ADA improvements, ramps and pedestrian push buttons at signalized intersections and channelization.

The Snoqualmie Parkway Rehabilitation and 2023 Street Overlay projects will be completed summer of 2023. Snoqualmie Parkway will remain open and passable to traffic while work occurs, although intermittent lane reductions are expected.

The city recognizes paving projects often involve traffic inconveniences and appreciates residents’ patience and understanding while these important roadway improvements occur this summer.
