Snoqualmie Candidate Toft Behind Mullet in First Election Results; North Bend's David Spring Behind; Snoqualmie and Si View Propositions Passing

In case you missed it, President Obama has been declared the winner of the 2012 Presidential Election by media outlets. Here’s some early results for local candidates and ballot measures….

It’s been a long campaign for candidates in Washington’s 5th district senate seat race; one marred by accusations and contention from both the Republican and Democratic parties.

But when the clock struck 8PM tonight, it was the end of the long election road for Snoqualmie businessman Brad Toft and Issaquah  City Councilman Mark Mullet.

The early returns, Mark Mullet leads Brad Toft by 8%.  Mullet has nearly 54% and Toft has 46% of the votes counted.

The 5th District senate seat was previously held by Republican Cheryl Pflug, who withdrew from the race in May to fill a seat on the State Growth Management Board, a position appointed by Washington Governor Gregoire. Pflug later endorsed democratic candidate, Mark Mullet.

In other local ballot issues, The City of Snoqualmie Proposition 1 for public safety appears to be passing with just over 52% approval. Si View Parks District levy is also passing with 73 % approval.

North Bend Democratic 5th District House of Representatives candidate, David Spring, is behind Chad Magendanz with 45% of the vote.
