Section of 428th Ave closed near North Bend; PSE to replace aging gas main at 140th & 432nd

There are a couple of North Bend area projects that impact local roads over the next five to six weeks.
Starting Monday September 24th King County Roads will close 428th Ave SE between Reinig Road and SE 92nd Street to install a new box culvert.
The section of roadway near North Bend is not anticipated to re-open until November 2, 2018 at 3PM.

Puget Sound Energy will upgrade the natural gas system along SE 140th Street and 432nd Ave SE beginning on Monday, September 24th. The project is anticipated to last approximately six weeks, with typical work hours scheduled for Monday through Friday, 8AM to 4PM

According to a city news release, as part of this work some customers may have the gas service link to their business replaced, requiring a short interruption of service. PSE crews will provide those affected customers with more information in advance of the service line work on their property and will work closely with businesses to not impact business hours.

The work requires PSE to replace the existing natural gas main, which was installed in 1981, with a larger, corrosion-resistant plastic main, as well as replace select individual service lines as necessary.

The city said after gas main construction is complete, there will be temporary patches in the road and/or sidewalk. These temporary patches will remain until a contractors return  to complete the final road and/or sidewalk restoration. The restoration schedule is dependent upon weather, permitting and crew availability.
