School Safety Forum: Community Conversation to share ideas in constructive, civil way

We told you last month that Mount Si High School students were working to come up with impactful ideas to improve school safety, including planning a school safety forum where ideas could be shared. Student School Board representatives  have been leading the charge on the topic and efforts to turn their ideas into action.

It looks like one of those ideas has become reality. ASB students now have that safety forum ready to go and are inviting all community member to the event Tuesday, April 24th from 6:30PM to 8:30PM in the Mount Si Auditorium.

Forum panelists include 5th District Representative Paul Graves, Snoqualmie Police Chief Perry Phipps, Superintendent Joel Aune, School Board President Carolyn Simpson, MSHS Principal John Belcher, VP of Student Government Lexie Rose and community mental health providers.

You’ll learn about and discuss current district safety protocols, ideas to improve safety, mental health services and threat assessment techniques, ideas to raise awareness about school resources and more.

The event is designed as a community conversation between panelists, students and audience members where thoughts and concerns can be discussed in a constructive and civil manner.

Doors open at 6PM at the MSHS main entrance. Parking is available next to the football stadium.
