Roundabout construction requires 12-day closure of East Park Street near downtown North Bend

The City of North Bend announced that beginning Monday, October 7th through Friday, October 18th, East Park Street will be closed from Healy Avenue South to North Bend Way in the eastbound direction so crews can complete work on the East Park Street portion of the new Park Street roundabout.

Traffic control signage will be in place to guide drivers to a detour route off of East Park Street onto Healy Avenue South and then to Orchard Avenue SE which brings vehicles back to North Bend Way.

Local access along this closed segment of East Park Street will be allowed
by the traffic control company.

Starting Monday, October 7th, the contractor will begin removal of pavement and grading for Phase 3 of the city’s newest roundabout. This phase entails construction on the east side of East Park Street and another large portion of the roundabout. All work is weather dependent, but the city said the contractor is making good progress.

According to the city, the roundabout is still on schedule to be operational by the end of October. It is anticipated to improve traffic in the downtown area, especially access in/out of QFC.
