Rotary Golf Tournament Produces Big Donation to Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank

This past June, two special Snoqualmie Valley Rotary sponsored events reaped big rewards for area charities and continued the Rotary’s mission to feed the hungry. Thursday, August 28, 2014, Rotary members met for their monthly breakfast meeting and presented a $7,500 donation check to the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank.

The Snoqualmie Casino donated proceeds from comedian Bob Saget’s June 13th show and a pre-show special meet-and-greet cocktail reception to the Rotary. That event was then followed by a very successful President’s Cup Golf Tournament held at the TPC Snoqualmie Ridge on Monday, June 30th.

The two events helped raise $54,000 for Rotary First Harvest, the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank and other local organizations. The rotary credits the generous support of  the tournament’s primary sponsor, the Snoqualmie Casino, for making the 2014 tournament such a hit.

The Rotary has existed in the Snoqualmie Valley for nearly 35 years, with the goal of advancing the idea of “service above self.” They are currently in the midst of a three-year commitment to eradicate hunger and help community members in need by supporting Rotary First Harvest and the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank.

Proceeds from the President’s Cup will contribute over 50,000 pounds of fresh food to benefit children and families that rely on hunger relief organizations across Washington State – and right here at home in the Snoqualmie Valley.

2014 President’s Cup champions were a team from Mount Si High School: Alex Nelson, Jimmy Jacobson, Nick McAlister and Nate Fisher.
