Valley Center Stage-Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol

Valley Center Stage’s annual presentation of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol will take place live and in person at the newly renovated Sallal Grange on December 3rd – 19th, 2021.

The North Bend holiday tradition is returning to live theater in a new and exciting location but brings back to life the heartwarming classic that is part of so many families’ special time together. Telling the story of second chances, transformation, forgiveness, and compassion, this adaptation of Dickens’s classic is true to the original version.

We follow the journey of the iconic Ebenezer Scrooge to see how he became the hard-hearted man he is when the play begins.  We see past mistakes and injuries, the present hardships of those surrounding Scrooge, as well as, his loneliness and what the future holds for him if he doesn’t change.  This perennial favorite reminds us that it is never too late to change, to be kinder, and to do better

“We hope you enjoy this year’s version of A Christmas Carol.  We’ve changed a few things to bring fresh life to the story but respect keeping the sentimental and emotional journey that we hope you all get to experience.  This story, now more than ever, is what we need to hear – a story of hope in what’s to come,” said Wynter Elwood, Co-Director.

The new Valley Center Stage location is an improvement all around. It is handicap accessible and has dedicated parking allowing greater access for the community it serves.  It’s been renovated to provide an intimate theater room with more raised seating, upgraded sound quality, and new heat/air conditioning. The new spacious foyer/lounge and concessions area are the perfect settings for beverages and mingling before the show.

Holly Days-North Bend

Join your friends and neighbors to ring in the holiday season on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 5 to 8 p.m. as Holly Days returns to downtown North Bend.

This old-fashioned holiday festival includes a live stage, firepits with marshmallow roasting and smores fixings, visits with Santa, and of course, the lighting of the community tree with Mayor Rob.

Enjoy local community performance groups such as the Mount Si Caroling Committee, Valley Center Stage, Twin Falls Middle School Jazz Band I, IGNITE Dance and Yoga, singer Hillary Martin, and Veils of the Nile. And new this year – your City Councilmembers will emcee the live stage.

Holly Days provides the perfect opportunity to shop and dine locally and support your favorite North Bend businesses.

Kids can visit with Santa inside Simpson Group Realty in their new storefront adjacent to Birches Habitat, in addition to exploring free, outdoor holiday crafting activities with local nonprofit organizations. And if these festivities weren’t enough to get you in the holiday spirit, you can even start your Holly Days early with a free showing of ‘Elf’ at 2 p.m. at the North Bend Theatre.
