Reinig Road and Mill Pond Road Overlay Project Starts Next Week

Starting Monday, October 4, contractor crews will begin work on the 2021 Overlay Project to repair damaged pavement sections along SE Mill Pond Road, SE Reinig Road, and Schusman Avenue.

Improvements include pavement grinding, new asphalt overlay, and striping along Reinig Road between Meadowbrook Bridge and the county line.

Following the Reinig Road phase of this project, crews will perform similar asphalt overlay, repair work, and striping along Mill Pond Road just east of the Tokul roundabout and along the east side of Schusman Avenue.

Local Impacts

During this construction phase, Reinig Road will be closed October 4-7 at Park Street south of the Meadowbrook Bridge to the Railroad Bridge. Mill Pond Road will be closed October 6-8. Residents can detour through downtown Snoqualmie. Residents who take 396th Drive SE for arterial access will detour using the Tokul roundabout.

Work along Schusman Avenue will be scheduled outside of school hours so as to not impact Mount Si High School operations. During construction, signage will indicate road closures and project limits.

This work is weather-dependent and subject to scheduling changes. Project updates will be provided. The City appreciates residents’ patience and understanding during these important pavement improvements.
