According to a press release, in response to the sexual assault and stabbing at Jay Berry’s restaurant in North Bend on March 9 2014, Snoqualmie Police Department officers serving North Bend have been conducting numerous interviews with many businesses in the Mountain Valley Center Shopping Center, the Exit 31 interchange area and North Bend Premium Outlets.
Police officers in North Bend will continue meeting with North Bend businesses as needed.
A meeting will be held with the management and staff at the business where the crime took place to address concerns, answer questions and provide crime victim and prevention information.
Police officers in North Bend will also increase high-visibility patrols, especially at closing time. To assist with these patrols and with the large volume of priority calls occurring in North Bend since Friday, March 7th, an additional overtime officer will be added to the North Bend night shift through this Sunday, March 16th.
An online fundraiser has been set up for the victim of Sunday night’s assault. Those wishing to donate can find the fundraiser page HERE.
North Bend/Snoqualmie Police Chief Steve McCulley, also a North Bend resident commented, “It goes without saying I am very proud of our response and handling of calls for service in North Bend and Snoqualmie.”
