POLICE BLOTTER | Suspicious Sprinkler, Car Prowling Raccoon, Public Peeing, Watermelon Theft

spdThe Snoqualmie Police Department has a motto: “NO CALL TOO SMALL.”  Here are some of the calls they responded to in North Bend and Snoqualmie over the past two weeks, some that might be evidence of that motto.

UNLOCKED CAR PROWL |  GALA CT, Snoqualmie
On June 6th around 7AM and unlocked car prowl was reported.  The white Hummer was left with its doors open and had been clearly rifled through said the person reporting the incident.

MALE WITH SLEDGEHAMMER  | RAILROAD AVE & FIR ST, Snoqualmie
On June 7th around 8PM police performed an area check and made contact with a suspicious male who was reportedly waving a 3lb sledgehammer and yelling a people on Fir Street.

PUBLIC PEEING  |  MT SI PUB, North Bend

On June 7th around 6PM a caller reported a male urinating in public, saying the subject came out of the pub and urinated in front of him.  An officer responded and located the man, advising him of the complaint and possible ramifications. The man was informed by the officer that if police had more than an anonymous tip he could’ve been charged with indecent exposure, depending on just what was observed.  The driver said he understood that he had urinated behind his semi truck trailer.


FAILURE TO PAY  | E NORTH BEND WAY
On June 8th around 5PM a taxi cab driver reported that he drove two people from Issaquah to North Bend and they were refusing to pay him.  An office responded and took the two non-paying people into custody.

SUSPICIOUS ODOR  |  CENTER BLVD SE, Snoqualmie
On June 11th around 3PM a caller reported an odd smell, described as “like something was possibly dead,”  coming from the bushes near the location.  The caller stated the smell had been getting worse over the past few days.  An officer responded and checked the area but did not smell anything out of the ordinary –  other than garbage cans.

ATTEMPTED WATERMELON THEFT  |  SNOQUALMIE RIDGE IGA

On June 12th around 3:30PM, an employee reported that two male juveniles had attempted to shoplift a watermelon. The store did not want to prosecute, but the two males were trespassed from the store.


POSSESSION/DISCHARGE FIREWORKS |  KALEETAN LOOP & DENNY PEAK DR, Snoqualmie

On June 13th around 7PM police responded to a report of fireworks being set off in the neighborhood.  The caller asid that the noise ceased during the call to police and was advised to call back if it happened again – and that an officer would patrol the area.


SUSPICIOUS WILDLIFE  |  CRESTVIEW AVE, Snoqualmie

On June 16th at midnight a caller reported that their car alarm went off in their vehicle that was parked in the driveway. There was a light on inside the vehicle and the caller was hearing was hearing noises.  An officer responded and discovered a raccoon had set off the car alarm.


NOISE COMPLAINT |  6TH ST, North Bend 

On June 17th around 9:30PM a caller reported a loud engine running at the location.  An officer responded and spoke to a neighbor who was washing his home with a very loud pressure washer.  The neighbor ceased the washing and said he would do it during earlier hours.


POSSIBLE STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED |  RHODODENDRON DR, Snoqualmie

On June 18th around 10AM a caller reported finding a bicycle sitting in their driveway.  An officer responded and recovered the blue and black Mongoose BMX bike.


SUSPICIOUS SPRINKLER | CRESTVIEW LOOP, Snoqualmie

On June 20th around midnight a caller reported that a house on the street with new owners had its sprinklers going and there was possible some kind of water leak. An officer responded and reported “suspicious water emitting from some sort of device which shoots water in a circle, in turn making grass greener.”  The officer was unable to locate the person(s) “who planted such a suspicious device.” (Humor intended)


MALICIOUS MISCHIEF REPORT | NORTH BEND LIBRARY

On June 19th around 7PM several cars in several locations were keyed at the library.  There was no known suspect information.
