Police Blotter | Soup Can Fire; Keys Stolen, Hundreds Taken from Car; Hit & Run on Parked Car

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES |  MERRITT AVE SE, Snoqualmie

 January 3, 2015; Reported at 3:38PM

A caller reported finding a “soup can on fire” on the trail near the Deer Park and Aster Creek neighborhoods. He stated that he stomped out the fire and can show it to officers if needed, and that he left it where it was on the trail.

An officer responded and found a former bean can that had been stuffed with paper and other objects, filled with rubbing alcohol and lit on fire.


HIT & RUN ACCIDENT UNATTENDED |  GRANITE LN, North Bend

January 8, 2015; Reported at 2:09AM 

A caller reported witnessing a hit and run to a parked vehicle. He stated the truck that hit the parked vehicle was parked near his location and the suspect vehicle is damaged on the driver’s side. He did not see who was driving the truck.

An officer responded to the apartment complex.  The caller witnessed the suspect vehicle hit the victim vehicle while trying to park, but didn’t see the driver.  The officer attempted to contact the registered owner at their address but there was no owner.


THEFT REPORT  |  BALLARAT AVE N, North Bend

January 8, 2015; Reported at 9:45AM 

 A caller reported that overnight (around 3AM) their grandson heard an unidentified male trying to open the door to their home.  No damage was found to the door, but the caller said he found his outdoor carport had been rifled through.  The only item discovered missing was a six-pack of wine coolers. No suspects were known nor arrests made.


THEFT REPORT |  MT SI FITNESS, North Bend

January 8, 2015; Reported at 12:35PM

A caller reported that between 11:30AM and 12:30PM, someone went into their gym locker, grabbed their keys and then broke into their vehicle.  $600 in cash and some credit cards were stolen.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES |  NEAR SNOQUALMIE IGA

January 8, 2015; Reported at 10:07PM

In the IGA parking lot near Steve’s Doughnuts, a suspicious white van was reported – with the doors open, no one around and things strewn all over the area.  The caller thinks maybe someone is inside the Chinese restaurant.

Police responded and found a cleaning crew cleaning the building’s vents. No back up assistance was needed.

January 9, 2015; Reported at 7:23PM

A caller reported a possible burglary, seeing lights going on and off inside their neighbor’s home when that neighbor was gone and no one else should be staying in the home.

Police responded to find the homeowner came home.
