Police Blotter | Parachutes landing at the park; trying to pass fake bills; DUI suspect flees on foot

Here are a few of the calls the Snoqualmie Police Department responded to in North Bend and Snoqualmie during the past two weeks.

THEFT REPORT | VERIZON WIRELESS, North Bend

On March 10th around 1:30PM, an employee reported that a customer stole an iPhone 10 from the store. Police made contact with the suspect and found that he was in possession of the stolen phone. The phone was returned to Verizon and the suspect was read his Miranda Rights.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | TORGUSON PARK, North Bend

On March 10th around 5:35PM, a caller reported parachutes landing on the baseball fields. It turned out to just be a paraglider landing there after taking off from Tiger Mountain.

WELFARE CHECK | MAPLE DR, North Bend

On March 11th around 5:30AM, a caller reported a visibly intoxicated man stumbling around and acting agitated outside the location. Police escorted the man home and talked to his parents at the door, who confirmed that he was welcome there and would sleep it off.

INFORMATIONAL REPORT | SAFEWAY, Snoqualmie

On March 12th around 5:05PM, an employee called to report a customer who was trying to pass fraudulent bills. The subject was gone by the time officers responded, and they were initially unable to locate him. He was eventually found on foot near the fuel pumps. Safeway did not want to prosecute— they didn’t accept the bills so they didn’t lose any money.

RECKLESS DRIVING | E 4TH S & BALLARAT AVE , North Bend

On March 13th around 11:30AM, a caller reported a car driving around with someone on the roof, saying it looked like the driver was trying to make the person fall off the roof. Police made contact with the teenagers and explained to them the dangers of doing that and what criminal action can be taken. Both kids called and explained themselves to their parents, who assured police they would deal with them.

TRAFFIC STOP | BENDIGO BLVD & SOUTH FORK AVE, North Bend

On March 15th around 4:15AM, an officer followed a car driving recklessly, suspecting it to be a potential DUI. The car that was speeding, swerving, and failing to yield. It also blew through a red light, and pulled out the wrong way on South Fork Ave. The car eventually pulled over and the driver attempted to flee. The officer detained the driver and booked her into King County Jail for eluding, driving without a license, and ignition interlock.

TRESPASSING IN-PROGRESS | E PARK STREET, North Bend

On March 15th around 2:20PM, police responded to a transient man who was trespassing on vacant property. The man was trespassed from the location per request of owners.
