 November 10, 2014;  Reported 10:33AM

A caller requested police contact regarding his neighbor leaving garbage cans in their driveway all week and bears constantly tearing into the can and leaving a garbage mess for he and other neighbors to clean up. The caller said he had notified the neighbors of the garbage can issue, but they didn’t not clean up the mess or move the garbage cans inside.  The caller stated the HOA told him to contact police as this had happened multiple times.

An officer responded and attempted to contact the homeowner regarding his garbage cans, but was unsuccessful. Officer left card for the homeowner.  The officer also noticed many other neighbors who keep yard waste outside, as well as some residences with garbage cans outside.  The officer referred the reporting person back to the HOA and to the city council, as it appeared to be a non-enforceable incident from a law enforcement officer perspective
