Police Blotter | Man Defends Home, Bear Takes out Fence for Apples, Knock out Threatened for Parking Spot

THREAT  |  NORTH BEND WAY & BALLARAT AVE, North Bend
October 18, 2014, 6:23PM

A person reported being threatened by a white male in his 20’s or 30’s over a parking spot. A man driving an SUV said he would knock out the caller. The caller asked officer to contact them inside North Bend Bar and Grill.

Officer responded and looked for the other vehicle in the parking lot, but the suspect left prior to the officer’s arrival.

ALCOHOL-RELATED OFFENSE |  100 MAIN AVE N, North Bend

An officer observed a person drinking a can of beer while walking down the street.  The person tried to hide the beer inside his jacket when he saw the officer. The male was cited for open container of alcohol in public.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES |  1000 BLK MALONEY GROVE AVE, North Bend

October 20, 2014; 10:59PM

A woman reported that a man attempted to open her home’s front door. When the woman’s husband opened the door to see what the man wanted, he tried to push his way into the home. The woman said the man, described as white and in his 20’s with red facial hair, wearing a baseball cap and jeans, was unknown to her family.

The woman’s husband armed himself with a gun and threatened to shoot the man if he made it through the door.  The subject then went to the back and tried that door. He then returned to the front, screaming that the house was his.  He then left, heading southbound.

Police responded and had the homeowner secure his weapon.  The subject was found and taken into custody.

WELFARE CHECK |  E PARK ST & CEDAR AVE, North Bend
October 20, 2014; 12:48PM

Police performed a welfare check on a man passed out in his Ford Focus, parked across from the transitional center in North Bend. The man had ben there over 30 minutes.

Officer issued a citation for an open container of alcohol after the man was found with pants down mid-thigh, passed out and a half-consumed bottle of Jim Beam whiskey in his hand.

DUI/PHYSICAL CONTROL |  SNOQUALMIE PKWY & DOUGLAS AVE SE, Snoqualmie

October 20, 2014; 6:07PM
Police contacted the driver of a silver Ford that was observed as possible DUI driving.  The vehicle was headed down Snoqualmie Parkway toward the police station.

An officer contacted the driver, who had not been drinking and no distractions were obvious.  The driver was warned that someone had reported his/her driving as possible DUI.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | SILVA AVE SE & SE FIR ST, Snoqualmie

October 21, 2014; 11:27AM

A woman reported that a white Saturn had been parked for 10 minutes at her location and was occupied by four people she feels are “known drug users.”  She did not see any drug activity, though.

Police responded and contacted/identified five subjects parked outside of Pickering Court, allegedly waiting to give a ride to their friend. None of the vehicle’s occupants had a license so the officer made them walk until they could get a licensed driver to remove the vehicle.

ANIMAL PROBLEM |  7500 BLK RAVEN AVE SE, Snoqualmie

October 22, 2014; 12:38AM

A person reported that a bear broke down their fence and is now in their backyard and wandering toward the alley.  The caller asked that a report be taken for his homeowner’s insurance and fence repair.

Police responded. Appeared the bear and knocked the fence down to get to apple tree droppings. The bear was also at the home the night before – in the garbage. Police contacted a Department of Fish and Wildlife agent about trapping the bear.

THEFT IN-PROGRESS |  NORTH BEND SAFEWAY
October 23, 2014; 1:42AM

An employee reported there was a blonde-haired, white female in her late 20’s stealing cosmetics. She went into the store’s restroom and then was last seen in a black Chevy Suburban hiding behind the store.
Police responded and ordered the woman out of the vehicle. She first refused and then complied. The woman had dumped the items prior to leaving.  Police completed a trespass notice on the subject.
