Police Blotter | Launching from the Roof; He’s Alive, Just Napping; Goose on the Loose

blotter logoHere are a few of the calls Snoqualmie Police Officers responded to in the Cities of North Bend and Snoqualmie over the past couple of weeks, proving yet again… “No Call too Small.”

DOG LEFT IN CAR | MAIN AVE & E NORTH BEND WAY

On June 20th around 1PM an officer responded to a report of a panting dog left in a car. The officer checked on the dog and reported that all four windows were cracked 2+ inches each and outside it was 73 degrees with a slight breeze… that the dog seemed to be doing well.  The officer left a note for the vehicle’s owner that they’d checked on the dog due to a citizen call and planned to swing by again to check on the pooch.


WIFE BUMPER BRUSH  |  SNOQUALMIE FALLS

On June 20th around 10PM a caller reported his wife had been involved in an argument with an unknown person in the Falls parking lot earlier that day.  The man said the suspect may have struck his wife’s legs with their car when parking after a verbal altercation in the lot.  The man was advised to come to the police station and complete a statement.


DRUNK AND DISORDERLY | COUNTRY PRIDE, North Bend Truck Town

On June 22nd around 12:30AM police responded to the restaurant when two callers reported that a female threatened the cook by saying she was going to ‘kick her *ss, ‘ spit on her and then threw chairs around. An officer found the suspect at the gas station across the street.  She was drunk and booked on felony warrants, with charges planned for assault and disorderly conduct at the restaurant.


THEFT IN-PROGRESS |  NORTH BEND SAFEWAY

On June 23rd around 2:30AM an employee reported a female teen had stolen two bottles of whiskey (worth $40) and left on foot headed toward downtown North Bend.  An officer responded but was unable to locate the suspect.  A photo of the female was sent out to see if anyone could ID her.


CANINE THREATS | DELTA ST, Snoqualmie

On June 24th around 9:40AM a caller reported getting a note from his neighbor threatening his dog.  The note was left on his car and the caller stated a British woman walking dogs the night before had yelled at him when his dog barked at her.


BLOCK IN THE ROAD |  SNOQUALMIE PKWY & I-90 

On June 24th around 3PM an officer removed what looked like a large 2×2 foot cement block from the roadway.  Turns out it was a salt lick and was transported to the police station and then placed near the ponds behind the station for the local deer.


NAP IN THE GRASS CONFUSION | NORTH BEND OUTLET MALL

On June 25th around 11AM police responded to a report of a man laying in the grass near the mall.  The caller reported the man looked deceased, like he had collapsed. Aid responded to the scene.  Good news! Crews reported the “subject is alive.”  He was just taking a nap.


THEFT REPORT | SI VIEW COMMUNITY CENTER, North Bend

On June 25th around 7:30PM a set of keys were reported stolen from a stroller while at the Farmers Market. There was no known suspect information and/or evidence.


RECKLESS DRIVING |  STELLER WAY & OSPREY CT, Snoqualmie

On June 25th around 10PM, police responded to a report of two male subjects riding motorcycles on the walking trail between Stellar Way and Lake Alice.  The subjects were gone when an officer responded.  The caller will follow up with the city to put in a third barrier so motorcycles cannot squeeze between the two posts separating the trail and Lake Alice.


 MALICIOUS MISCHIEF REPORT | SE NEWTON ST, Snoqualmie

On June 27th around 8:30AM, a caller reported someone had destroyed her yard decorations overnight. According to the responding officer, the caller had tried to block cars from parking on a city right of way in front of her home and someone “took exception to this action and moved the cement blocks fout-of-the-way and bent the t-posts over.”  The officer explained to the woman that she needed to contact the city to determine the boundary of the right of way in question.


 GOOSE ON THE LOOSE |  EJ ROBERTS PARK, North Bend
On June 29th around 3PM there was a goose chasing people around in front of the park. The goose chased a girl on her bike and tried to bite her.  Before officers could respond, the owner retrieved the loose goose.  The call was canceled.

ARMED WITH WATER BALLOONS |  BALLARAT AVE, North Bend
On June 30th two different callers reported water balloons were being launched at cars. The first caller couldn’t figure out where the balloons were being thrown from (maybe kids hiding in bushes) and the responding officer could not locate the balloon launchers. But, the second caller reported two male juveniles were on top of a home and two females had also entered the house.  An officer responded and spoke with the balloon offenders.

OUT OF GAS & FRUSTRATED |  MT SI CHEVRON STATION, North Bend

On July 1st around 5PM a caller reported a male kicking at a car at the gas station and then panhandling – going back and forth between gas station asking for money.  An officer responded and reported there was no crime, that the involved subjects just needed gas money and “became belligerent.”

BOOM BOX AFTER DARK |  STELLAR PARK, Snoqualmie 
On July 2nd around 11PM a caller reported loud music coming from the park when it was supposed to be closed.  An officer responded and found two adults listening to a boom box at the park and informed them that city parks are closed after dark and the music was loud.  They both agreed to go home.
