Police Blotter | Injury Accident; Theft Report; Unwanted Subject

May 22, 2023

Officers responded to the intersection of Center Blvd and Ridge Street in Snoqualmie for the report of an injury accident involving a female riding on the back of a motorcycle who failed to hang on and fell off the back. She sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital by EMTs.

An officer stopped a vehicle near Tollgate Farm Park for not having a license plate and a fraudulent trip permit in the back window. It was determined the driver had a revoked driver’s license and an ignition interlock requirement, which was not installed. Charges were forwarded for driving with a suspended license, ignition lock requirement violation, no valid registration, and trip permit violation. The fraudulent trip permit was also taken and destroyed.

It was reported that $1500 worth of copper wire was stolen from a SE North Bend Way construction site. No suspect info was known.

A North Bend resident reported seeing an unknown male walking thru his backyard in the middle of the night on his surveillance video from two nights prior. The caller reported the subject seemed to be prowling in the neighbor’s yard. No suspect info was known.

An officer pulled a vehicle over for having expired license tabs. Upon checking the driver’s name, it was determined he had a suspended 2nd license and a warrant out of Snoqualmie. While being transported to jail, the male claimed he had swallowed drugs ( a common tactic used to avoid going to jail). A nurse at the jail said the male had to be cleared at a hospital before booking. The male admitted to lying about the drugs, but the jail still would not take him due to staffing. He was cited and released for the traffic offenses, as well as giving false statements to an officer.

The Snoqualmie Safeway reported a female inside the store cursing and refusing to leave. This was the second time she had been at the store that day. She was gone before the officers arrived. However, she did walk across the street to the police station to complain about Safeway. After speaking with officers for a couple of minutes, she left. She was advised not to go back to Safeway. 

May 23, 2023

A North Bend gas station employee reported locking doors and closing the station’s store for the night. She returned to the store after going home and noticing she had forgotten something. Upon returning, she found the alarm going off and observed a male exiting the store. Officers responded and found the male suspect nearby. He was arrested for criminal trespass. After checking his identity, he returned with an international Interpol hit and was wanted out of Korea for aggravated assault. He was booked into jail.

A  Snoqualmie resident reported that an unknown subject (possibly a neighbor) appeared upset as he parked his vehicle for the evening. The following day the reporting person came out to find his vehicle keyed. Approximately $1000 worth of damage was done. No suspect info was known.

The North Bend QFC reported the theft of $3000 worth of alcohol by two males. There is an ongoing investigation for possible suspect information. 

May 25, 2023

A North Bend Outlet Store reported a shoplifting incident that had just occurred and provided suspect information and a suspect vehicle description. Officers responded and were able to locate the vehicle. The male occupant admitted to stealing from the store. Officers recovered nearly $4000 worth of store merchandise. The male was arrested for theft.

$5000 worth of copper wiring was taken from a Snoqualmie Ridge Puget Sound Energy power line location.

After hours, an officer contacted a vehicle with four occupants at Snoqualmie Point Park. The male in the driver’s seat refused to provide his name. The vehicle’s registered owner was listed as a missing person with a protection order for a male whose description matched that of the driver’s seat occupant. Additional officers were called to the location. The male was finally identified, and determined he was not the person subject to the protection order. Three of the four vehicle occupants had arrest warrants, including one male with a felony escape community Dept. of Corrections. Two of the occupant’s warrants were confirmed out of different cities. They were transported and booked on those warrants. 

May 27, 2023

Residents heard a loud noise in the 7600 block of Douglas Ave and discovered a stop sign had been knocked over. They checked their Ring camera footage and observed a vehicle that had jumped the curb, hit the sign, and kept driving. Officers are still reviewing the footage for suspect info. 

May 27

An officer observed a vehicle swerving all over and speeding in downtown North Bend and initiated a traffic stop. The female driver stated she was on the way to the bar but wasn’t that drunk. After failing a field sobriety test, the woman was arrested for DUI. A breathalyzer showed she was 1.5 times the legal limit. 

May 28, 2023 – Agency Assist

Officers were called to assist the King County Sheriff’s Office with an inmate escape from Echo Glen Children’s Center. Seven inmates ranging from 15-17 years old assaulted an employee, locked her in a cell and took her vehicle. An extensive area check was conducted, and the subjects were not located. Three inmates were found the next day, and the remaining four were taken into custody on May 30. All were located outside the Snoqualmie area.
