Police Blotter | Helped myself to your hose; crossbow in the woods; no cursing in front of the kids; here, take my backpack

Here are a few of the calls the Snoqualmie Police Department responded to in North Bend and Snoqualmie over the past week:

UNWANTED SUBJECT | SAFEWAY, North Bend

On September 8th around 8:15PM, caller reported that they had stopped two juveniles who attempted to shoplift liquor as they tried to exit the store. The juvenile gave up his backpack with the liquor inside before running off.

CITIZEN ASSIST | OSPREY CT & STELLER WAY, Snoqualmie

On September 9th around 10AM, a caller reported an ongoing problem with speeding vehicles in the area. She refused to give any information and said she will keep calling everyday. Police monitored the area for over a half hour and saw no cars going more than 2mph over the speed limit, which is 20mph.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | FALLS AVE SE, Snoqualmie

On September 9th around 3:15PM, a caller reported a man working on his truck in front of the caller’s home. When caller asked the man if he needed any help, he told them that he’d already helped himself to using water from their hose to try to fix his radiator. The caller told the man it wasn’t okay for him to come onto personal property without permission, then called police to ask that the man be moved along. An officer responded and the issue was diffused. The officer talked to the subject about ‘appropriate behavior when wanting to use another person’s property.’ A tow truck was called. No crime committed.

DISTURBANCE | RIVERVIEW PARK, Snoqualmie

On September 9th around 4:30PM, caller reported an older woman in the park was screaming at families who were there setting up for a birthday party. The woman initially refused to leave when police asked her to, but did when she was informed further action could be taken. She has been trespassed from all Snoqualmie City parks for one year
for yelling at/cursing in front of children. Woman was also trespassed earlier from the 76 gas station after manager reported strange behavior.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | BARTELLS, North Bend

On September 9th around 6:30PM, caller reported a man urinating in the parking lot and begging for money. Officers contacted suspect, who they are familiar with. The man was obviously impaired by alcohol, and police gave him a warning.

AGENCY ASSIST | RIVERSIDE DR SE, North Bend

On September 12th around 3:20AM, a caller reported a house fire, with flames visible from the garage. Everyone in the house evacuated to safety. Police assisted the fire department.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | SNOQUALMIE PKWY & SE SWENSON DR, Snoqualmie

On September 12th around 7:45AM, a caller reported a man dressed in camouflage and carrying a crossbow heading into the woods. This wasn’t the first time this man has been spotted. Police talked to construction crews in the area and left their card, but were unable to locate the man at the time. Fish and Wildlife were notified.

RECKLESS DRIVING | MOUNT SI HIGH SCHOOL, Snoqualmie

On September 12th around 7:30PM, police contacted four juveniles who had been spotted drifting around the parking lot and spinning their tires in the gravel lot. Police gave them a warning regarding their driving.

THEFT IN-PROGRESS | SAFEWAY, North Bend

On September 13th around 9:45PM, a caller reported that a woman took a bag full of items from the store without paying for them. Safeway was unable to tell if anything was taken from the store for sure. Police informed management that they could not pursue if there was no proof a crime had actually occurred.

TRAFFIC EMPHASIS | SNOQUALMIE PKWY & SE SWENSON DR, Snoqualmie

On September 14th around 3PM, police cited four vehicles for speeding in a school zone.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF IN-PROGRESS | SE 12TH ST & SALISH AVE SE, North Bend

On September 14th around 7:30PM, caller reported two teens spray painting and playing on construction equipment in new Salish development. The contractor stated that there was no damage.
