Police Blotter | Cookie Thief; Officer Provides Dinner and Bus Fare; Please Use your Inner Voice; Possible Umbrella Sword

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

Police responded to the Maloney Grove & E North Bend Way area on February 21st for a report of a man walking with a rolling suitcase and yelling at cars.  The officer reported the man was just yelling out loud, not specifically at any car or person. The officer advised him to use his “inner voice” so people don’t worry about him.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

Police responded to the North Bend Safeway on February 21st after a citizen reported a female was panhandling in the parking lot. When the officer arrived, the subject went inside the store. The store manager reported the woman took about $500 worth of cosmetics into the restroom that he suspected she was trying to shoplift. The officer contacted the woman as she exited and she lied about her name.  A check of Facebook confirmed it was not her name and she then revealed that it was not her name and that she had a warrant.  She was detained at the Issaquah jail. The officer requested the alias name be linked to her so she wouldn’t be able to use her friend’s name again.


PARKING PROBLEM

Police responded to Denny Peak Drive in Snoqualmie on February 24th when a caller reported a vehicle had been parked in front of their home for five days and it had almost caused an accident because the homeowner couldn’t see other vehicles coming when leaving their home. The homeowner had tried to contact the neighbor, but said they continue to park in the spot. Police contact could not be made with the registered owner.  The car was tagged for 24-hour removal and dispatch was informed to have the car checked the followed day.


THEFT REPORT

Police responded to Kinsey Street in Snoqualmie on February 24th when it was reported that a bike was stolen from the homeowner’s front porch overnight.  No suspect information was known.


THEFT REPORT

Police responded to Douglas Street in the Snoqualmie Ridge Business Park on February 25th when it was reported that 30 gallons of gas was siphoned from a U-Haul truck.


TRAFFIC OFFENSE

Police stopped a driver in the NE 8th and Ogle Ave area of North Bend on February 25th.  The stop revealed the driver had a suspended license and had failed to transfer the vehicle’s title.  The driver was released on the scene, but the car was towed due to no availability of a legally licensed driver and the driver could not prove ownership.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

Police responded to Janet Ave in North Bend on February 25th after a report of a man wandering in yards and knocking on doors.  It was discovered the man was a “peddler without a license.”  Police informed the man to obtain that license.


WARRANTS/WANTED PERSON

Police arrested one subject in the Maple Ave and River Street area of Snoqualmie on February 26th.  The subject, who had a warrant out of North Bend, was spotted walking down 384th when he was taken into custody and booked into the Issaquah Jail.


VEHICLE PROWL REPORT

Police responded to the Si View Community Center in North Bend on February 26 after several items were stolen from a vehicle. The passenger window was forced down and a laptop computer was taken from the front seat.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

Police responded to Opstad Elementary School in North Bend on February 27th to perform an area check after someone thought they heard a gunshot in the area.  All students were brought in from the playground.  It was discovered that a transformer had blown in the area and PSE was at the scene.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

Police responded to the Sure Shot Pub in North Bend on February 28th when an employee reported a customer whom had been there for two hours, had never been there before and was making the employee uncomfortable.  The officer gave the man a ride to McDonald’s, bought him dinner and gave him bus far for the morning.


NOISE COMPLAINT

Police responded to Saint Andrews Lane in Snoqualmie on February 28th for a report of “loud music all evening.”  The hosts of the adult party agreed to turn the radio down.


THEFT IN-PROGRESS

Police responded to the GO Wireless store in North Bend on March 1st after a male subject “grabbed and dashed” with an iPhone 6. He left the store running toward the railroad tracks.


JUVENILE PROBLEM

Police responded to Snoqualmie Community Park on March 1st after a report of four male juveniles shooting a potato gun.  By the time officers arrived the kids were gone.


DUI/PHYSICAL CONTROL

Police stopped a vehicle on North Bend Way on March 1st for reckless driving and took one person into custody for DUI. The car was towed and the driver was booked into Issaquah Jail.


THEFT REPORT

Police responded to Rhododendron Drive in Snoqualmie on March 2nd for the theft of 18 boxes of Girl Scout cookies worth $72.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

Police responded to the North Bend Safeway parking lot on March 3rd after a report of a taxi driver saying he was scared for his life. The driver had picked up two subjects in Kirkland and had been driving around for four hours. The driver was owed $200 and the subjects refused to pay, one of which had a knife – even though knife was not used to threaten driver. Charges of theft of services were filed after the investigation.


THEFT IN-PROGRESS

Police responded to Truck Town in North Bend on March 3rd after a store manager caught a customer stealing soda and energy drinks.  The subject and store manager entered into a civil agreement for payment in lieu of prosecution. Police also issued a trespass form.


TRESPASSING IN-PROGRESS

Police responded to the North Bend Safeway store area on March 4th for a woman who had previously been trespassed from the store. The employee had asked her to leave for an hour. An officer contact her and her male companion at McDonald’s.  The female was arrested for trespassing and drug paraphernalia.  The male was arrested for an Outside Agency Warrant.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

Police responded to Railroad Ave near the Mount Si High School Freshman Campus on March 5th after a report of a male possibly carrying a sword walking toward Snoqualmie.  The caller stated the subject wasn’t “brandishing it,” so it might just be an “umbrella sword.”  Officers did an area check but were unable to located the person.


THEFT IN-PROGRESS

Police responded to the North Bend Outlet Mall Vanity Fair Store for an attempted shoplifting on March 6th. An employee confronted the woman outside the store and the taken items were given back. Officers located the woman who had a warrant from the Monroe Police Department.  MPD would not confirm so the woman, who had been drinking and was pregnant, was given a courtesy ride to Snoqualmie.
