Police Blotter | Burning in the park; destroying the cul-de-sac; enough of the ding-dong-ditch already

Here are a few of the calls the Snoqualmie Police Department responded to in North Bend and Snoqualmie during the past week.

THEFT IN-PROGRESS | QFC, North Bend

On August 20th around 5:30PM, meat and seafood was stolen from the store. The suspect left in a car with dents and a busted out back window and was later apprehended by police and taken into custody.

JUVENILE PROBLEM | YMCA, Snoqualmie

On August 21st around 8:30PM, a caller reported that a group of juveniles was acting very disrespectful and climbing the birch trees behind the Y. Police found seven male juveniles at Kite Hill “burning something and jumping over it with bikes and skateboards.” The officer obtained all the boys’ information and had them call their parents to come pick them up – and also made them clean the surrounding area.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | SENIOR CENTER, North Bend

On August 21st around 9PM, a caller reported hearing someone yelling for help. He didn’t see anything, only heard yelling, and didn’t feel comfortable checking himself. Police contacted the subject who said he didn’t need help. He was intoxicate and warned about North Bend’s Disorderly Conduct ordinance.

WEAPONS OFFENSE | HARDING PLACE, Snoqualmie

On August 22nd around 8:15PM, a caller reported a man with a hammer, ax, and crow bar destroying things in the cul-de-sac. I was reported the man was damaging cars, threatening neighbors, and had previously been doing doughnuts around the cul-de-sac. A second caller reported the same behavior. An officer made contact with the subject and detained him. Miranda rights were read. He was taken in for DUI, having registered a 0.160 blood alcohol level, double the legal limit.

JUVENILE PROBLEM | SE RIDGE STREET, Snoqualmie

On August 22nd around 9:30PM, a caller reported kids playing ding-dong-ditch in the neighborhood and hanging out in the parking lot of Cascade View Elementary. Police contacted several juveniles, some of whom ran and were later contacted. The kids were advised to not ding-dong-ditch as it is very annoying and rude to homeowners.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | NYE AVE SE, Snoqualmie

On August 26th around 1:15AM, a caller reported an unknown vehicle parked with lights on in the neighborhood. It turns out it was just some moms hanging out, no crime.

  • I think there should be more activities for the youths a skate park for one a youth club just with Tutors or volunteer teachers or parents to help kids with homework or just to give them some games to play our activities just somewhere safe for teens to go if they feel the need to get out
