Police arrest front porch package thief with help of alert resident

The Snoqualmie Police Department said via press release that on March 16, 2017 at 11AM, the were called to the 7500 block of Huckleberry Way SE – in the Ironwood neighborhood – for a suspicious white male that had taken a package from the front steps of a home.

Per the release, officers were in the area within minutes looking for the individual that had walked up to the residence, removed the package, and then walked out of the neighborhood.

The person who witnessed the incident gave a detailed description and direction of travel, helping officers to locate the individual at nearby Fisher Creek Park as he was getting into his vehicle.

According to police, the investigation led to the arrest and confiscation of the stolen package – and the suspect, Snoqualmie resident, and was booked into the Issaquah jail on theft charges.

The Snoqualmie Police Department said this is a great example of a resident witnessing something suspicious and not hesitating to call 911. SPD encourages everyone to call 911 immediately when witnessing suspicious behavior.
