New Pharmacy Coming to Snoqualmie, Ridge IGA Finds Occupant for Vacant Space

After Village Pharmacy closed its doors in July 2013, the City of Snoqualmie has been without a place to fill prescriptions within the city limits. The Myers Group, owners of the Ridge (IGA) Supermarket, had been working since the summer closure to bring another pharmacy inside the busy grocery store.

This May it looks like a new pharmacy is in the cards for Snoqualmie residents. Signs went up at the Snoqualmie Ridge IGA on March 17, IGAPharmacyClosing2013, announcing that in two months, residents will soon have a pharmacy option closer to home. Currently, the closest pharmacies are in North Bend and Issaquah.

Snoqualmie Ridge IGA employees weren’t exactly sure yet who will operate the pharmacy space, with one employee stating it was a pharmacy company from Seattle.

When Village Pharmacy closed in July, pharmacists said that due to the way insurance companies now reimburse, Village Pharmacy was losing money on many of the prescriptions it filled, making it hard to afford the retail space inside the grocery store.

This story will be updated when the Myers Group announces who will operate the new pharmacy.
