There’s a collaboration happening in downtown North Bend – something you may have noticed while walking by Birches Habitat – and it involves shopping and wine.
Pearl and Stone Wine Co will soon open a tasting room utilizing some of Birches Habitat space. Construction has quietly been happening on the Bendigo Blvd side of Birches downtown corner location that will turn a large storefront display window into a new tasting room for Pearl and Stone.
The North Bend-based winery said they should be open by the end of October, but there is no exact date yet as opening is dependent on the timing of permit approvals from the WSLCB.
Tasting room hours initially will be Saturdays from 12-5PM, extending to 6PM once spring arrives. Pearl and Stone said those hours could change once they open and gain an understanding of the demand and flow of business.
Pearl and Stone Wine Co. launched in 2013 and is a partnership between three longtime Snoqualmie Valley families. They specialize in crafting small batch, red blends with grapes sources from some of the best vineyards in Washington.

Just what North Bend needs another place to drink and purchase alcohol! Both supermarkets in town have hugh wine selections of grapes juice must be 10 + bars and eateries gas/convenience stores. Not sure what the city is thinking,

Not sure what you’re comment means, but ‘the city’ doesn’t have anything to do with it. If this is a viable business that puts money into the local economy, then what is the problem?
If people aren’t willing to patronize other types of retail establishments, this is what we end up with.
Do you shop at Amazon instead of spending your money in your local stores? If so, you helped create this problem. It doesn’t take advanced math or logic to figure out that retail establishments need patrons. When you won’t buy stuff from them, you’re going to end up with nothing but bars and nail salons.
