Overnight Snow Means Snoqualmie Valley Schools Opening 2 Hours Late, December 18th

Kids should be waking up happy today, as snow coats the ground. Much of the valley saw 1-2 inches overnight.

In response, the Snoqualmie Valley School District delayed the start of school by 2 hours with limited  transportation in Area A (North Bend), Area B (Snoqualmie) and Area C (Fall City) due to inclement weather and road conditions.   There is NO AM Preschool, Encompass, AM Kindergarten, or out-of-district transportation.

You can check bus routes in limited transportation areas HERE.  Parents are urged to check the SVSD website frequently as weather conditions may change or worsen.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Snoqualmie Valley and other areas, but not Seattle which is being shadowed from rain and snow by the Olympic Mountains.  1-3 inches of snow are possible in advisory areas through noon.

Temperatures are predicted to only reach the upper 30’s today, so any snow on the road this morning should melt off.

Now, turn off your kids alarms and go back to bed – if you can!
