If you have ever dodged a pothole on Interstate 90 or cringed when you drove right over it, you’ll be thrilled to hear that these pavement repairs begin this week.
Don’t worry; contractor crews are working overnight, so it won’t affect your dayside commute. As always, this work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Drivers can expect
Crews will close lanes and ramps nightly; signed detours will be in place for closed roadways and ramps. This work is weather dependent and is subject to change.
Each night, workers will start at 9 p.m. and open back up at 5 a.m. the following morning.
Sunday night, Aug. 21 and Wednesday night, Aug. 24, workers will close:
- The East Sunset Way to the eastbound I-90 ramp
- The southbound 17th Avenue Northwest to westbound I-90 ramp
- The Front Street North to eastbound I-90 ramp
Monday night, Aug. 22 to Friday morning, Aug. 26, workers will close:
- The Highlands Drive Northeast to westbound I-90 ramp
- One right lane on westbound I-90
After the Issaquah ramps, the next location crews will focus on is the stretch of I-90 in North Bend, between exits 31 and 32. That work is scheduled to be finished by early September; more information is to come.
This work is part of the Northwest Region Emergency Pavement project that spans King, Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom counties. Construction is expected to be complete by April 2023.

This is good news, but also was thinking when are they gonna fix the potholes between Preston and Exit 25, eastbound. All the lanes are damaged. is there a websit where i can atleast bring it to their notice
