North Bend, Snoqualmie, Sister Cities seek new Commission members and volunteers

For residents interested in volunteering in the Snoqualmie Valley, the cities of North Bend and Snoqualmie, as well as the Snoqualmie Sister Cities Association recently announced some opportunities.

North Bend Parks Commission Youth Position Opening

The City of North Bend is seeking youth between the ages of 16 and 18 who reside within the Snoqualmie Valley School District boundaries to fill a youth position on the Parks Commission.

Youth interested in serving the community on this important Commission are urged to submit an application. Application forms are available at the North Bend City Hall, 211 Main Ave. N., or may be printed off by clicking on the Youth Parks Application link below. If you would like an application form mailed to you, contact the City Clerk at 888-7627.

Snoqualmie Salary Commission Openings

The City of Snoqualmie has established a Salary Commission to review and adjust the salaries for Snoqualmie’s elected officials (mayor and city council members), and perform the duties established by RCW 35.21.015. This is a volunteer position.

Salary Commission members must be a resident of and a registered voter of the City of Snoqualmie. The commission is made up of three members, each serving a 1-year term.

Commission members shall review and take action to adjust – by increasing or decreasing – salaries of all elected officials of the City of Snoqualmie.

If you are interested in an appointment to the Salary Commission, please complete and submit the Statement of Interest Form available on the city website at www.cityofsnoqualmie.org in the Forms Center.

Snoqualmie Sister Cities Seeks Volunteers

Do you have a passion for developing international learning experiences in Snoqualmie Valley?

This is your opportunity to build a better world by supporting cultural experiences for Snoqualmie Valley students.

The Snoqualmie Sister Cities Association is seeking energetic volunteers to help facilitate student exchange programs between Snoqualmie and its sister cities of Gangjin, South Korea and Chaclacayo, Peru.

Nearly 300 high school students have traveled in this program, studied in sister city high schools, enjoyed home stays, made international friends and ‘siblings,’ and had amazing, life-changing experiences.
