North Bend prepares for the “Best Night Ever of Comedy Ever, Round 2”

Sixteen comics battled for the top five spots in round one of the 41st Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition last Saturday night at the North Bend Theatre.

After two hours of rapid-fire jokes that left the packed audience gasping for breath, the judges selected the best sets of the night. Cheered by the audience, these comics were called back to the stage:

1st) Sam Miller (Olympia, WA)
2nd) Josh Firestine (Tacoma, WA)
3nd) Bahiyyih Mudd (Yakima WA)
4th) Jesse Warren (Seattle, WA)
5th-tie) Wyatt Cote (Long Beach, CA)
5th-tie) Julian Fernandez (Walnut, CA)
5th-tie) Matty Litwack (New York, NY)

“But wait,” says Beth Burrows, owner of the North Bend Theatre. “It doesn’t stop there! The Seattle International Comedy Competition is a big deal in the comedy world. Sixteen comics are just the beginning. Sixteen more will be competing next Saturday.  And they’re bringing their best material.”

Saturday’s competition will be the second round of the preliminaries. The comics in this round include a single dad raising two kids,  an American trapped in Canada,  and a guy with really great hair. A good time is guaranteed!

The Seattle International Comedy Competition is America’s biggest touring comedy festival.  Spanning the entire month of November, 32 comedians perform their way across Puget Sound, vying for $15,000 in cash prizes.  The seven comics from round one will continue to the next round, vying for a spot in the final night of the competition at Laugh’s Comedy Club in Seattle’s University District.
