North Bend News: Two-week road closure planned; new survey asks for citizen input on shopping habits

Via new release this week, the City of North Bend announced a couple of happenings:

Two Week Road Closure

Starting Monday, August 27th, East 2nd Street between Janet Avenue and the public alley 250 feet to the west will have a full road closure for installation of a sanitary sewer pipe by a private developer.

The project is anticipated to take approximately two weeks.

The extended closure is due to high groundwater conditions at or above the elevation of the sewer pipe. Detour signage will be provided by the contractor.

Shopping Habits Survey

As part of a retail leakage study recently commissioned by the city council, the city is requesting citizen feedback on personal shopping habits to develop a better understanding of the types of products and retail stores consumers would like to see in the community.

The survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete. Take the survey HERE.

The city said community input is important, as the survey responses will help create a future strategy framework for economic development in North Bend, which will be tailored to the needs of the community and reflect the ideas and desires expressed during this stakeholder engagement process.

The survey will provide feedback for research purposes only, that any feedback used to frame this discussion is confidential and will not be attributed to the respondent.

To facilitate this process, the City hired Community Attributes Inc. (CAI) to perform an analysis of the local economy, including engagement with the local community. This work will be leveraged to develop an economic profile of the City.
