North Bend Library to Reopen on July 7th

The King County Library System (KCLS) announced it has advanced to Phase 4 of its multiphase reopening plan following the reopening of Washington State.

In phase 4, all libraries reopen; in-building services will gradually resume.

  • All manual book drops and Self-Check-in stations open to return materials.
  • Locker pickup continues at Bothell and Covington Libraries.
  • Masks are no longer required for people who are fully vaccinated.
  • Libraries at 100% capacity; no physical distancing required.
  • Limited mobile outreach.

Not available:

  • Curbside pickup ends.
  • Meeting and study rooms closed.
  • Surprise bags are no longer available.
  • No large public gatherings or in-library events.
  • No Friends Book Sales or book donations.
  • No volunteer opportunities inside the library.

Per the plan, the North Bend Library branch reopens on Wednesday, July 7th.

Contactless Curbside to Go services will be phased out as KCLS increases in-building access. The last day to pick up holds at the North Bend Library contactless services is July 1st. As of July 2nd, no services will be available as staff prepare for reopening. If you have holds ready, you’ll be able to pick them up inside the library after it opens.

Once the North Bend Library reopens, hours of operation will be announced. KCLS in-building services will be modified at first and expand over time. KCLS will continue to assess and implement health and safety protocols as needed.

As the King County mask directive ended on June 29th, those who are fully vaccinated no longer need to wear masks inside the library.  However, those not fully vaccinated will need to continue wearing masks.

“We look forward to welcoming patrons back into all of our library buildings,” stated KCLS Executive Director Lisa Rosenblum. “We know this is the moment many of you have been waiting for, and we are happy it is nearly here.”
