North Bend Downtown Foundation hands out 2nd ‘Ripple Effect’ award to beloved Arby’s Employee

It may have been delayed a couple of months due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the North Bend Ripple Effect Award is back – and this time it went to Arby’s employee, Chance Turner.

If Facebook comments are any indiction, the community couldn’t be happier to see the award go to someone who makes so many days better whenever they hit the restaurant’s drive-thru window.

The Ripple Effect Award is sponsored by the Downtown North Bend Foundation and launched in January. It was designed to recognize people who make a difference your day – those who make a gloomy day brighter, lighten your load and make you smile. People who make North Bend a great place to live and shop.

Chance was nominated by numerous community members who said they love it when he greets them at the drive-thru window.

Here’s some of the comments used to describe Chance:

  • “I always leave feeling happier after I interact with Chance.”
  • “I can count on leaving Arby’s in a good mood, even if I arrived a little cranky.”
  • “Interacting with Chance makes my whole day feel great!”

According to the NBDF, Chance was super modest when Ripple Effect administrator Ambur Brown presented him with the award.

He commented, “I’ll be here tomorrow, doing the same thing. Stop by the drive-up window.”

The Ripple Effect Award is presented quarterly. If you’d like to nominate someone for the next Ripple Effect, send your submission to Amber Brown at NBDFRippleEffect@gmail.com.

Submissions must be received by the second Friday in March, June, October and December.

Congratulations, Chance.
