North Bend Dance Studio receives two national award nominations; public can vote to help

IGNITE Dance Studio in North Bend announced some big news last week: that it had received two 2018 Industry Dance Award nominations. In fact, of the five nominations secured by Washington dance studios, two of the nominations went to Ignite.

The Industry Dance Awards honor excellence in dance. The nominated routines were performed at competitions by local Snoqualmie Valley students between the ages of 14 – 19.  In August, Ignite Dance Director Katie Black and her co-director will be flown to Los Angeles for the national awards ceremony.

AND – Katie reported some other good news in addition to their performance nominations. They just returned from nationals where Ignite was awarded the National Studio of Excellence Award by the Association of Dance Conventions and Competitions. The award is given to studios that compete in many different genres and different age groups and develop dancers of all ages.

Ignite needs the public’s help, though. Before the awards are announced in August, the community has a chance to vote for their favorite dance performances in each category.

“Nothingness” – Best Open/Acro/Ballet Performance category

“Creep” – People’s Choice Category

We’ll keep your posted next month and let you know how Ignite did at the awards ceremony. Good Luck!
