News Around Town: Huge Mount Si Win, Bye Bye Pink Paint & Hello Red Rooster

There was lots going on in downtown Snoqualmie yesterday so here’s a quick run down of some things that caught my attention on my numerous drives between Snoqualmie and North Bend.

MOUNT SI FOOTBALL

Everything came together for Charlie Kinnune’s Wildcat Football team last night.  They defeated the Juanita Rebels, 60-6.  Yes, you read that right, 60-6!  By the end of the first quarter it was 29-0 already.  Kicker, Cameron Van Winkle tied a state record last night, kicking his 33rd high school career field goal. By season’s end, he will most likely hold that record outright.  There’s also a chance Mount Si will move up to a #2 3A state ranking after last night victory and O’Dea’s defeat at the hands of Issaquah, 33-30.

EAGLES SAY BYE-BYE TO PINK BUILDING

News Flash!  The pink, Victorian-kind-of-sytle building on Railroad Ave is no longer pink.  The salmon color has been replaced by a neutral biege. Nice job on the makeover, but sadly, I will sort of miss the distinctive pink building.

ROOSTER VALLEY FARM SCHOOL SAYS HELLO TO RED BUILDING

There’s a new preschool going in on Falls Ave called Rooster Valley Farm School and yesterday was painting day.   The building is now a rooster shade of red.  Rooster Valley opens next month – and it really is a farm preschool, featuring animals and gardening along-side academics.   Love the new barn.  Love the color.
